Noah's Ark

The second and last day in Dogubayazit started early with breakfast in the hotel and a view of Mt. Ararat from the hotel window. We then met our driver for a search for Noah's Ark. The bible says that after 40 days and nights of rainfall, Noah's Ark came to rest in the region of Urartu... At the foot of Mt. Ararat (likely another version of 'Urartu'), we are definately in the right region. The picture above shows what some think is the resting place of the Ark (the ship-shaped bulge to the left of the V-shaped rock formation), others think that it was broken into several pieces in an earthquake and that some is preserved under the icecap of Ararat. Given that much of Mt. Ararat is a military zone, it isn't so easy for researchers to explore the possibilities... I am not sure what I believe, but you can look it up and let me know what you think.
