From Puerto to Cuba was a journey even worse than from Chicago to Puerto Rico... From San Juan to Miami, from Miami to Panama on American Airlines (the AA part should suffice for you to understand how terrible this part was - rude and unhelpful ground staff, incorrect flight numbers shown at boarding bays, old planes, no food... ), pass immigration, collect luggage and check in again to the Copa flight from Panama to Havana.
