To be truthful, I don't really know when it was discovered that Miswak (twigs from the Peelu tree) were effective teeth cleaners, but apparently the use of Miswak is widespread in the Muslim world as instructions to use this twig daily are written somewhere... Anyway, even Wrigley's has done studies on the benefits of this twig for dental health. S received this one from a Sheikh who cures 'hysterical' women by smacking the bottoms of their feet with a wooden plank to make the djinns depart.
I wonder how she could leave this very interesting souvenir behind.
